Did you hear? It’s going to snow AGAIN in Boston. There is currently over SIX feet of snow on my front lawn. You can either complain about it or embrace it. Why not use it as the perfect excuse to upgrade your winter wardrobe? Even if the season feels long and cold, there is no reason you can’t feel stylish!
Here are ten of my favorite outdoor wardrobe must-haves:
1. Patagonia Ski Pants. These are so divine in this bright pink color! Check out their many offerings: www.patagonia.com or www.backcountry.com
2. Gloves. These are basic but I love them! They aren’t for the coldest days, but are sturdy and will keep you warm when temperatures are in the 30’s. www.kinco.com
3. A great down vest. I shop at Mountain Hardwear (www.mountainhardwear.com) and Back Country (www.backcountry.com) for the best selection. There are so many choices it will be hard to decide, and both sites often have good sales available.
4. Sorel Boots. Owning a pair of warm boots is very important if you live in a cold climate. There are so many great styles to choose from , and your toes will be toasty. www.sorel.com
5. A Cozy Pom Pom Hat. This one is from The North Face, but Pistil also makes some cute ones. Check out both sites for ideas: thenorthface.com & www.pistildesigns.com
6. SmartWool Socks. My go-to socks are these thin black socks. They are perfect for skiing or shoveling! www.smartwool.com
7. Cuddleduds FlexFit Long Sleeve Crew. I live in this shirt. I layer it over my long johns for skiing, or wear it over my tank top to go to the gym. It’s super light weight, and I love how long it is. www.cuddlduds.com
8. A puffy down jacket in a delicious color. For my 40th birthday, a good friend gave me a puffy down jacket. I love the versatility of it, and that it’s a bright color. It’s a medium weight so I can layer it, but I also now own a thicker one that I can wear alone on cold days. www.mountainhardwear.com & www.backcountry.com
9. Patagonia Better Sweater. Hands-down the coziest zip-up sweater money can buy. I use this in the morning before the heat comes up, as a thick layer for outdoor activity, and at the end of the day paired with my yoga pants. http://www.patagonia.com/us/search/Better%20Sweater
10. Skida Hats and Neck-Ups. Skida is the hot new hat brand on the market up our way. Wear them alone, or buy the thinner Nordic style to wear as a helmet liner. There are so many gorgeous patterns that you will probably have trouble deciding on just one. http://shopskida.com/
Stay warm and be stylish!
