Chinoiserie was very popular in Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries and has made a huge comeback. It’s not surprising: this colorful and playful style adds so much personality to a room.
Whether you choose to add a little chinoiserie inspiration to your home or a lot, there are many ways to incorporate it into your decorating. More formal pieces like lamps and bowls can serve as focal points on side tables or mantles. Additionally, more functional pieces like pillows or upholstered furniture can look great in your space.
There are endless places to find chinoiserie inspiration, and at various price points. If you’re fortunate to have had a piece or two handed down to you, that’s fantastic, and hopefully you will display it. If not, there are a million ways to get the same look for less.
Below are some ideas I put together to hopefully get your design juices flowing. I have included links for you to shop the post. Feel free to follow me on Instagram @brooke.spater where you can DM me with questions!
If you missed my recent posts on table lamps, you can read it here. I havesome chinoiserie options in that round-up!
