My fabulous home finds posts are designed to help you find the perfect additions to your decorating projects.

Maybe you’re just starting your project, or perhaps you are looking for that finishing touch to make your room feel done. I enjoy pouring through resources and discovering unique and beautiful items that I think will appeal to my readers. I provide all sources for you at the end of each post. I’d also love you to follow my design journey on Instagram.

Make it feel manageable.

Decorating projects can often feel overwhelming. Breaking things out into manageable sections can make it feel less daunting. I recommend starting with the basics: rugs, seating, and other furniture to fill the space. A nice sofa will not only be more comfortable to sit on, it will last longer. A beautiful rug will look gorgeous underfoot.

Next, think about curtains. I highly recommend custom window treatments if you can afford them. They will fit your windows precisely. The quality of the fabrics you can choose from far suprasses anything store bought. These are all the core items that will ground your room and you should prioritize them in your budget. If selected correctly, you will not have to replace them for a long time either. I do encourage you to think about working with an interior designer for these pieces. We can help you secure to the trade only pieces that will be much higher quality than anything you can buy in a retail setting.

Add the finishing touches.

From there, start thinking about the touches that will make the space pop and add dimension to the design. Beautiful pillows can add color or unique texture. Lighting spread appropriately around the room will enhance the space visually. Artwork is a must, and even if your budget is small, you can find ways to be creative. There are so many art downloads you can buy on Etsy for example. Things like trays, coffee table books, and other decor can be found in a wide variety of places. Check local thrift shops and flea markets for unique and affordable finds. Here are some other posts I have written that you may find helpful on these topics:
