You spend a lot of time in your bedroom. Take the time to design a space that is cozy and welcoming, and a reflection of your personality.
My latest master bedroom design with hints of blue is a good choice for those who want a cozy and comfortable space, but also like color. I started with a really bright rug. This particular rug would work in a variety of rooms because it has so many colors and could be paired up with just about anything. If you need an overhead light, consider going bold and bright. For a more complete guide to brass overhead lighting be sure to check out this post. I like to put a small mirror over a dresser when it can fit. I’m also used to designing smaller bedrooms so partial to bedside tables with a lot of storage like this one or this one. If you’ve read some of my past posts, you know how much I like pillows. Be sure to check out my guide to blue pillows here for more ideas.
Pro tip: notice I said I started with the rug? Did you know that paint is the LAST thing you should choose for your space? Many people think it’s the opposite, but the truth is, we invest a lot in furnishings and it’s relatively inexpensive to change your paint color. Set your bedroom design, then choose the paint!
I’d also like to offer some advice about bedding, even though it’s not covered in this design. Invest well in it. You spend a lot of time sleeping, and good linens matter. Here is my favorite sources for sheets, comforters, and towels!
I’m linking all of my sources below for you. Happy decorating!
