Spring brings warmer weather, blooming flowers, and the special chance to celebrate your mom in May. When it comes to Mother’s Day gifts, I like to give something thoughtful, useful, and not overly expensive. I try to think about what my mom or mother-in-law would be excited about opening and would look forward to using. Older moms also sometimes appreciate consumable gifts like beauty products, food, or wine. Many of them have downsized or plan to soon, and are really trying to cut down on the clutter as much as they can.
HERE’S MY LIST…
Moms can always use a new water bottle, especially when it really works. These are stylish and come in a variety of colors and sizes. Your mom’s drink will stay cold for 24 hours and the sleek design will fit nicely into her gym bag or purse.
Toast your mom by her sending wine, delivered right to her door! Scout and Cellar makes clean-crafted wines, which are free of pesticides and added chemicals and contain minimal amounts of sulfites.
My husband discovered Stance while traveling to the West Coast several years ago and brought me home a pair. I can honestly say they are the most comfortable socks I’ve ever owned and they last. Both of our moms love to walk and walk for miles so they would love these. They have a million fun patterns, and also have great sock collections for men (hint, hint Father’s Day!), including some great sports patterns.
For years, Marye has split her time between Texas and Block Island. I have the pleasure of seeing her at the Block Island farmer’s market when I am there every summer. Her frames and gifts are so beautiful, and come in a variety of colorful patterns. Any mother would love one of these with a meaningful photo on her special day.
Here are some of my favorites…
6. Shea Body Butter from L’Occitane en Provence
There are so many great skincare lines, but L’Occitane en Provence has been one of my favorites for a long time. I love their shampoo and conditioner as well as all of their soaps and creams. This body butter is rich and smells great, without being too greasy. If you’re looking to put together a little gift set, consider adding a Shea Ultra Rich Shower Creme. Decadent!
7. A scented candle with a fun message
This candle with have your mom and siblings laughing.
I’ve been a huge Scout fan for years. This tote bag is perfect for the pool or beach, and comes in a ton of fun patterns and colors. They are sturdy and functional. I have lots of other Scout bags that I recommend, especially their cosmetic bags and wristlets. I typically add at least one Scout bag to my collection every season.
I don’t know too many people who don’t love chocolate and it always seems to be a great bet when you just aren’t sure what to give. Godiva hits it out of the park with this tasty and colorful box. If you’re lucky, maybe your mom will share some of them with you!
