Do you ever see a product and wish you’d thought of that? That’s how I feel about these electrical outlet covers! They truly are the BEST electrical hack ever.
Last year we bought a ski house in Southern Vermont. Thankfully, it is in great condition and there was very little real work to do before we moved in. Most everything has been aesthetics: switching up paint colors, new carpet upstairs. and lots of new doorknobs (if you’re curious on that front, we went from brass to black and we love the new look!).
That being said, one of the things that annoyed me right off the bat was the 30+ off-white faded electrical plate covers all over the house. Paying an electrician would be costly, and to be honest, it’s hard to get reliable people to return your calls up there! Imagine my sheer glee when I discovered these plate covers. Simply unscrew your dated ones and screw these in right over the exposed outlet.
Here is the BEST electrical hack ever in action:
Simple to install!
I am not the most handy person, but seriously anyone can figure these out. I ordered up a big batch of them and put some tunes on. Before I knew it, I had a refreshed look. There were two I considered, including the one linked above as well as this one. The brand is called Taymac, and you can buy them in different quantities at the time of my writing this.
Here I am installing one recently in the Vermont kitchen. Now we just need to update that tile!
Are you as impressed with this hack as I am? Let me know if you end up switching out your plate covers too!
